Yes, with at least 24 hours' notice by phone or WhatsApp.
At your consultation we talk you through your options and what each one costs.
Yes, and we're on Discovery's FlexiCare dental network. You can also pay by card or cash, or ask us about paying in instalments.
It depends on your teeth and gums, and we suggest an interval at your check-up. Guidance from NICE in the UK puts it at 3 to 24 months for adults and no more than 12 months for under-18s.
Yes. Decay and gum disease can start without pain, and a check-up finds them early, when treatment is usually smaller and simpler.
Bleeding gums can be an early sign of gum disease, but there are other causes, and a check-up shows which applies to you. Early gum inflammation (gingivitis) can be reversed with a professional clean and careful brushing at home.
The dose is very small: a bitewing X-ray of the back teeth gives about the same radiation as one day of natural background radiation. We take X-rays only when we need them. If you are pregnant, tell us before any X-ray is taken.
Yes, once the tooth has fully come through. We check it first.
Usually, yes. We take off the gold or silver cap and check the tooth underneath, and if enough sound tooth is left, we rebuild it in tooth-coloured composite, in a shade that matches your other teeth.
Yes. Composite bonding repairs a chipped, worn or uneven front tooth with tooth-coloured composite, usually in one visit. To change the shape and shade of several front teeth, composite veneers cover the whole front surface.
Often, yes. A fibre bridge fills the gap with a tooth-coloured tooth, held by a strip of fibre bonded to the teeth on either side. We build it in the chair, without surgery, once we've checked that your gap suits it.
Within six months of the first tooth coming through, and by their first birthday at the latest. That is the advice of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Check-ups, cleaning, fissure sealants, fillings and simple extractions, including baby teeth. A parent or guardian makes the booking for anyone under 18.
No, never put a baby tooth back in. Call us on 031 563 2473 so we can check the gum and the teeth around it.
Tell us when you book. During your visit you can ask for headphones and relaxing music, a blanket and pillow, softer lighting, tinted glasses or a stress ball to hold.
For a filling or an extraction, we numb the area with a local anaesthetic first. The injection can sting for a few seconds; after that, most people feel pressure rather than pain during an extraction.
A check-up needs no injection, and a scale and polish shouldn't hurt, though your gums may feel tender for a few days.
A check-up. Tell us it's been a while when you book, and we'll look at your teeth and gums and talk you through what we find.
Call 031 563 2473 as early in the day as you can. We see people in pain as soon as possible during practice hours, and easing the pain comes first.
Rinse your mouth with warm water, hold a cold compress on your face if it swells, and call us on 031 563 2473.
Go to a hospital emergency department straight away if you have trouble breathing or swallowing, a fever with facial swelling, or swelling spreading towards your eye or neck. These can be signs of a spreading infection.
No, it can burn your gum. Rinse with warm water, gently floss out any trapped food, and call us.
