Everyday care for adults and children, and tooth-coloured cosmetic treatment.

Find the right treatment
If you're not sure which one you need, start with a check-up.
Everyday dental care
Check-ups and X-rays
Catch decay and gum problems early. We examine your teeth, gums and mouth, and take X-rays only where they're needed.
Teeth cleaning
We take off tartar and surface stains, and can do your check-up at the same visit if it's due.
Fillings
A cavity, a cracked old filling or a small chip repaired in composite matched to the shade of your tooth.
Extractions
When a tooth can't be saved, we take it out under local anaesthetic, including wisdom teeth that have fully come through.
Fissure sealants
Seal the grooves where decay often starts in your child's back teeth, with no drilling and no injection.
Children
Check-ups, cleaning, fissure sealants and fillings for children, with extra time to settle in at a first visit.
Toothache and emergencies
If a tooth hurts or breaks, call us and we'll see you as soon as we can during practice hours.
Restoring and protecting teeth
Fibre bridge
Replace one missing tooth with a tooth-coloured bridge built in the chair and bonded to the teeth either side, without surgery.
Mouth guards and night guards
A thin night guard if you grind, or a sports guard for contact sport, made from a mould of your own teeth.
Gold tooth removal
Swap a gold or silver cap for a tooth-coloured one, rebuilt in composite to match the teeth beside it.
Cosmetic dental treatments
Cosmetic treatment can also be booked for an evening or a Sunday at Smile Aesthetics by Durban Dental Care.
Composite veneers
Change the colour, shape and size of your front teeth with thin layers of tooth-coloured composite, shaped by hand on your teeth.
Composite bonding
Repair a chipped, worn or uneven front tooth, or close a small gap, with tooth-coloured composite, usually in one visit.
Teeth whitening
Lighten the natural shade of your teeth in about an hour in the chair, with your teeth and gums checked first.
Composite smile makeover
Whitening, composite veneers and bonding planned together to change the colour, shape and size of your front teeth.

Questions patients ask about treatment
Every 3 to 24 months for adults and at least once a year for under-18s, according to UK guidance from NICE. We set your interval at your check-up, based on your risk of decay and gum disease. Read how often you need a scale and polish.
Yes. Decay and gum disease can start without pain, and a check-up finds them early, when treatment is usually smaller and simpler.
Bleeding gums can be an early sign of gum disease, but there are other causes, and a check-up shows which applies to you. Early gum inflammation (gingivitis) can be reversed with teeth cleaning and careful brushing at home. Read why gums bleed, and what to do.
Rinse your mouth with warm water, keep any pieces you find and hold a cold compress against your face if it swells. Then call 031 563 2473 and tell us whether it hurts, so we can judge how soon to see you. Read about toothache and broken teeth and what to do about a chipped or broken tooth.
Yes, when the tooth has fully come through. We check it at your visit first, with an X-ray to see how it sits. See tooth extractions.
