Gold/Silver Tooth Removal

Understanding Gold/Silver Teeth Removals

Before After

Gold teeth, gold inlays, gold crowns, whichever name it goes by, is a treatment that forms part of a culture whereby many people get gifted this treatment or have it done during their teen years.

Why remove gold teeth?

Unfortunately-with age-many people end up regretting ever having done their gold teeth done and need to have it removed. This could be due to the look of the gold no longer being compatible with them, or the more serious issue of the gold causing decay and pain on the natural tooth, which if left untreated can lead to complete tooth loss. An issue which could very easily have been avoided. The other downside? When having gold done, the natural and healthy tooth would have been cut or filed down, meaning that the natural tooth is forever changed even if the gold was removed.

How can we help?

Luckily, due to the advancement in cosmetic treatments and materials, you could have the tooth restored to look exactly like a natural tooth.

This process begins by removing the gold from the tooth. Thereafter, the process of having a composite veneer begins. The tooth is prepared for bonding and your composite is chosen to match the colour of the remaining natural tooth. Any missing tooth structure is built up and thoroughly polished to mimic the look of tooth enamel, and the end product is a seamless finish, as if the gold was never there in the first place!

This treatment has allowed many patients to regain their confidence to smile and reverse a regrettable decision made at a young age.

Nevertheless, everyone deserves to have a smile they can be proud to show off, and with composite veneers this is made significantly easier.
