Don’t rush when you brush!
Use your toothbrush in small circles to agitate the plaque. Place your brush on the gum margin (where the gum meets the teeth), tilt your brush 45 degrees toward your gum and move the brush in small circles focussing the brush one tooth at a time. Start at one side of the mouth and move along one tooth at a time to make sure all the teeth have been cleaned. Make sure you brush all aspects of the tooth so that no plaque is left behind.

Research shows that (for the majority of people) bacteria begins to break down the tissues at 6 months.

Flossing helps to gets rid of the tartar, plaque, and bacteria that builds up at the gum line and in between teeth. But when tartar and plaque is not removed it can result in serious health issues.

What is gum disease?
Also known as periodontal disease, is caused by plaque build up which does mot get treated in the early stages. Other causes can include tobacco use, certain health conditions and some medications. Gum disease starts of as gingivitis, which if not treated, can become more advanced. This can then lead to tooth and bone loss. Common signs include swollen, bleeding gums, extreme sensitivity, loose teeth, receding gum line.
